Set the grill grates on the divide and conquer system at the lowest setting. Place the soapstone on the highest setting to act as a broiler. Place crab dip on grill grate, underneath the soapstone. Many of our recipes were created by Rebecca Gareis Bent. Rebecca was born in Baltimore, Maryland and grew up spending weekends on the Chesapeake learning to crab and fish.

Crab artichoke dip is a really simple dip recipe made from canned coarsely chopped artichoke and cooked crab meat. Just mix everything together, then bake until bubbly and golden brown on the top. The total time to make this warm crab dip about 30 minutes.

In order to make the dip scoop-able, I use softened cream cheese as a base, almost like a crab rangoon. Then, to keep the dip low on effort and not overpower the crab, I use just a few ingredients to flavor it: garlic, ginger, Thai sweet chili sauce, and scallions.

This recipe was inspired by Val's Marina, a simple little seafood restaurant that was located on the Amite River in Maurepas, LA for over 50 years until Hurricane Katrina hit.. Crab Meat Au Gratin was their version of hot crab dip and it was my favorite item on the menu.. This is my version and I know you're going to love how easy it is to make.
